Priority Sites sells Vesty industrial units
Priority Sites has sold 35,600 sq ft of industrial space at its Vesty Business Park development to the Merseyside Fire and Rescue Authority.
This latest deal means over 60% of the high specification wind powered scheme on Bridle Road, Bootle, has now been sold.
Bill Skilki, chief executive of Priority Sites, said: "Since we completed the scheme in June 2008, sales have remained strong, which in the current market, is a significant achievement. It seems occupiers have been attracted to the high specification and energy efficiency of the new commercial premises and the significant impact these features can have on business operating costs."
The Merseyside Fire and Rescue Authority has purchased two hybrid units to be used predominantly as office space and the largest unit of the scheme for combined workshop and store use.
The cost of the deal was undisclosed.
The fire service already has its head quarters situated opposite Vesty Business Park.
Kieran Timmins, executive director of resources for the Merseyside Fire and Rescue Authority, commented: "We have long since recognised the need to streamline our strategic management and maintenance operation in Merseyside. Up to now, we had been operating our vehicle workshop from a separate site in Speke and were keen to become more efficient.
"Vesty Business Park presented the perfect opportunity to develop a brand new engineering centre that will service our full fleet of fire engines and specialist equipment."
Seven of the 21 units remain on the 159,000 sq ft development, with 100,000 sq ft already sold and further space under offer.
Jonathan Thorne of CBRE, acting on behalf of Priority Sites, added: "We are talking to other occupiers on the remaining seven units and are hopeful of securing further lettings or sales over the summer period."
The development is now home to a variety of occupiers including vehicle rescue and recovery operation, The Mansfield Group, Apollo Heating, confectionery specialist Hancocks, Ultracell Batteries and Parr Electrical.
The scheme comprises a total of 13 industrial units and 4 hybrid units ranging in size from 3,000 sq ft to 28,000 sq ft.
