Plots ready at new Barrow business park
Site servicing work is now complete at Ramsden Business Park in Barrow-in-Furness, opening up three plots totalling more than 250,000 sq ft for sale and development.
The three plots are suitable for companies wanting to develop industrial units with B1, B2 and B8 planning uses. There are two plots of 50,000 sq ft and a larger plot of 150,000 sq ft.
A new £10m access road, extending Michaelson Bridge Road, is currently under construction to replace existing road links.
Stuart Klosinski, industrial development manager at Furness Enterprise said: "This is a great opportunity to be one of the first on site choosing very competitively priced prime plots on what is one of the largest waterfront regeneration schemes on the North West Coast of England."
Quoting prices are £100,000/acre for land sales and £4.25/sq ft for rental prelets.
Klosinski added: "To date we have received over 100 inquiries from firms interested in relocating to the site. It is anticipated that over the next ten years the Waterfront Business Park will create up to 1,500 new jobs and see the local economy emerge stronger."
In total the wider Waterfront Business Park will comprise of 60 acres of dockland transformed into three business parks, Ramsden, St Andrews and Anchorline and accommodate up to 1m sq ft of office and industrial space.
Alongside Waterfront Business Park will be Story Group's new 89-acre Marina Village boasting 650 homes, hotel and leisure facilities; a 350-berth marina and watersports centre; and a cruise ship terminal providing a sea gateway to the Lake District and a wetland nature reserve.
