Plans in for 118 Coppull homes

Story Homes has lodged plans to build a mix of houses and apartments on the vacant land opposite Blainscough Lane.

Astle Planning and Design has drawn up the plans for the development, which would deliver 118 homes in the village of Coppull.

Proposals feature eight one-bedroom apartments, as well as 21 two-, 14 three-, 66 four-, and nine five-bedroom houses.

Of the 118 homes, 35 would be available for affordable rent.

Chorley Council approved the outline plans for the development last February, with a planning decision on the reserved matters expected early next year.

Martin Nugent, head of land and planning for Story Homes North West, said: “We’re excited to be progressing detailed plans for a proposed residential development of 118 homes on land we’ve purchased in Coppull.

“We’ve worked hard to design the kind of high-quality scheme for which Story Homes is renowned.”

Elsewhere in the North West, Story Homes has broken ground at Reynard Close in Longton to deliver 34 properties in the South Ribble village. The housebuilder has now purchased the land, following the grant of planning permission in July.

Adam Galleymore, operations director for Story Homes North West, said: “The team has  worked hard, and to go from exchanging contracts and submitting a planning application in November 2022 to completing the purchase and starting work on site in August 2023 is exceptional.”

Asteer Planning is advising Story Homes on the Chorley scheme. The project team also includes Pennine Ecological, RS Acoustic Engineering, and Trevor Bridge Associates.
