PLANNING | Freemasons Row apartment blocks on Liverpool agenda
Local developer Vinco Group’s plans for four residential buildings in the city centre, totalling 656 flats, are expected to be approved at the next Liverpool planning meeting on Tuesday 27 June, as is the construction of an aparthotel on the former Rapid DIY store site.
RECOMMENDED FOR APPROVAL
9-27 Freemasons Row, off Leeds Street
Developer: Vinco Group
Architect: Falconer Chester Hall
Scheme: Four interconnected blocks
Flats: 656 for PRS sector
Height: 11 to 15 storeys
Former Rapid store, 48-54 Renshaw Street
Developer: Yu Property Group
Scheme: Retaining facade, building aparthotel with 114 serviced apartments
Facilities: Cycle store, offices, reception, store room, laundry room, gym and lobby
Architect: Day Architectural
Height: 11 storeys
That development with the retained facade will look great with the new bit towering out the top. Just shows what other interesting options are out there rather than the developer’s favoured technique of boring ‘demolition’
