PlaceFirst relocates to Manchester city centre

Empty homes specialist PlaceFirst is relocating from Didsbury to a 2,000 sq ft office on Castle Street in Castlefield, Manchester, in anticipation of business expansion.

PlaceFirst has taken a five-year lease on office space at Eastgate, 2 Castle Street, a renovated Victorian warehouse located in the Castlefield conservation area and operated by landlord Castlefield Estates.

PlaceFirst said that the move will accommodate expansion of the company as it seeks to build an increasing portfolio of empty property refurbishment projects.

PlaceFirst currently employs 13 staff and anticipates further growth in numbers with the office able to accommodate up to 21 people.

David Smith-Milne, managing director of PlaceFirst, said: "When we knew we would have to move into bigger premises, we specifically wanted a high quality refurbished building in line with our own core business values of bringing empty and dilapidated properties back into use. Eastgate and the wider Castlefield conservation area was felt to be an ideal location for us."

PlaceFirst is about to start on site at a £5.5m scheme to create 51 apartments and houses from 28 empty Victorian terraced properties in Chatsworth Gardens, Morecambe and is currently refurbishing and remodelling 200 empty homes in two phases in Woodnook, Accrington in a joint venture with housing association Twin Valley Homes and Hyndburn Borough Council.

PlaceFirst represented itself on the move to Eastgate while Colliers International and Edwards & Co acted for Castlefield Estates.[IMG: border=”0″ alt=””]
