Pets at Home adds space at Stanley Green

Retail group Pets at Home has moved into a 22,700 sq ft head office in Stanley Green, Handforth, taking its occupation of Orbit buildings in the area to three.

The opening of Chester House is part of a £2m investment to provide modern workspace for up to 300 staff and pets, with facilities including a dedicated dog kitchen and an enclosed outdoor area called The Pet Park.

Chester House includes 17 themed meeting rooms, three kitchens, a library and a creative lab, plus breakout areas, private phone booths, enhanced lighting and  relaxation areas.

Peter Pritchard, group chief executive, said: “From the Pet Park to the meeting rooms and kitchen spaces, our new home and workplace has been built with our colleagues and their pets in mind. The business has come a long way since our first store opened in Chester in.1991 and it seems fitting that our new building is named after it.”

The company still occupies two further Stanley Green office buildings, which have also been renamed to mark the group’s second and third stores, becoming Gateshead House and Rotherham House.

Paul McLeman, leasing director at Orbit Developments, said: “We have worked with Pets at Home as they have grown over the years and we are  delighted to mark this special milestone for them with the opening of their uniquely designed HQ.

“They have certainly made all the properties their own. We wish them continued success.”
