One Vision starts third Wirral project
The Sovini Group subsidiary is building 61 homes on the site of a former primary school in Rock Ferry, having secured planning permission.
Mountwood Gardens is being delivered by in-house contractors and will contain a range of apartments and houses from one to four bedrooms for affordable rent and Rent to Buy.
The Dell Primary School closed in 2006 and has since been demolished. The three-acre development site is 150 metres from the River Mersey.
Ian Mitchell, managing director of One Vision Housing, said: “We’re pleased to be bringing 61 new homes to Wirral as part of One Vision Housing’s ambitious development programme. Mountwood Gardens supports our regeneration agenda and will not only create affordable housing opportunities in the area, but through Rent to Buy we will be able to help local residents get onto the property ladder as well.”
Mountwood Gardens is One Vision Housing’s third development in Wirral and the Sovini Group’s fourth, following others in Birkenhead and Pensby.
One Vision Housing is a registered provider of social housing, with 13,600 homes across Sefton, Liverpool, Wirral, Cheshire and West Lancashire. OVH was formed in October 2006, following a successful stock transfer from Sefton Council; operating as a not-for-profit organisation, regulated by Homes England.
The OVH project team, led by Richard O’Neill, includes contractor Carroll Build, Condy Lofthouse Architects, and Shape Consulting Engineers.
Completion is due by early 2022.
