NWDA sustainable buildings conference being held in May

A sustainable buildings awareness conference is being run by Centre for Construction Innovation next month on behalf of North West Development Agency.

The programme's goals are to make public and private sector developers, local authorities, architects and contractors aware of the policy and practice in the region, which aims at helping the region deliver a more sustainable built environment.

The North West Development Agency introduced its sustainable buildings policy in 2007, which sets standards in ten key policy areas for developments seeking NWDA funding.

Construction projects in the region which have delivered environmental, economic and social sustainability will be looked at to provide evidence of policy being put into practice.

The projects presented will all be short-listed for the North West Regional Construction Awards relating to the sustainable buildings agenda.

The NWDA conference is taking place at the Southport Theatre & Convention Centre on Thursday 21 May.
