Novia Furniture takes final space at White City

The retailer has signed a 10-year lease on a 9,500 sq ft unit previously occupied by Halfords.

Novia Furniture has signed a lease with The Derwent Group to join the likes of Sofology, Wren Kitchens, and SCS at White City Retail Park, located off Chester Road opposite Old Trafford’s stadium.

Now fully let, White City is home to a total of 18 stores and restaurants totalling 220,000 sq ft of retail space.

This will be Novia’s third store, but its first in the North West. Other outlets can be found at Brent Cross Shopping Park in London and Lakeside Retail Park in West Thurrock.

Avison Young acted on behalf of Novia Furniture on the deal. The Derwent Group was represented by Cheetham & Mortimer and CSP.

The Derwent Group is part of the Albert Gubay Charitable Foundation. The group operates a portfolio featuring 3m sq ft of office, industrial, retail, and leisure space.

The company’s retail and leisure offering is its largest at more than 1.7m sq ft. Offerings include Liverpool Shopping Park, Walkden Retail Park, and Wavertree Retail Park, as well as JunctionNINE in Warrington and JunctionONE in Wallasey.

James Maule-Finch, senior asset manager at the Derwent Group, comments: “Over the next few months we will be investing more than £1m on behalf of the Albert Gubay Charitable Foundation to improve the existing offering at the popular retail park.

“We will be carrying out an extensive refurbishment of the former Halfords unit and adding a new façade to the unit to align with the rest of the scheme’s high-end retail appearance.”
