NFU Mutual puts team in place for Chancery push

Chancery Place's new owner has appointed OBI Property and CBRE to fill the final vacant floor at the Manchester city centre office building.

The 12th floor of the 102,000 sq ft 14-storey block on Brown Street comprises 7,786 sq ft. New tenants would join Kyocera, Clyde & Co, i2, HSB Engineering, Clearwater Finance, Travelers Insurance and QBE in the building.

NFU Mutual bought Chancery Place for around £57m from Alanis Capital in the summer. David Hidderley, property investment fund surveyor at NFU Mutual, said: "We were delighted to purchase such an iconic building in Manchester city centre and we have a clear strategy for disposing of the final floor within the building. I am pleased to have instructed OBI Property and CBRE to help find a tenant for the 12th floor as their experience and track record speaks for itself."

CBRE advised NFU on the purchase. Alanis Capital previously retained Savills and JLL as letting agents on the building.

Will Lewis, director at OBI Property said: "We believe the 12th floor at Chancery Place provides the most impressive office space in Manchester, commanding amazing views from all elevations across the city and beyond. The building is regarded as having one of the best addresses in Manchester and it would suit any firm wishing to make a statement of its intent and ambition within the city. We have already received strong interest in the space and we are confident of securing a tenant in near future."
