Weightmans’ move to The Plaza confirmed

Bruntwood has confirmed law firm Weightmans is finalising a deal to occupy 90,000 sq ft in The Plaza in Liverpool city centre.

As tipped by Place in March, Weightmans was considering taking the office space following its announcement it was merging with Mace & Jones.

David Guest, regional director at Bruntwood, said: "I can confirm that we have agreed terms in principle with Weightmans for 90,000 sq ft in The Plaza. Both parties are finalising legal documents for signature and exchange imminently."

Weightmans is currently based in part of the ground, first and second floors in the 350,000 sq ft India Buildings in Water Street in the city.

The law firm also has offices in Manchester, Birmingham, Leicester and London. Following its merge with Mace & Jones, a firm of 1,000 employees was created.

Mace & Jones currently has an office at Drury House on Water Street in Liverpool, as well as offices in Pall Mall Court on King Street in Manchester and on King Street in Knutsford.

DTZ is the agent for The Plaza and Matthews & Goodman acts on behalf of Weightmans.
