Warner maintains WAG effect at Cavern Walks

Investor Warner Estate Holdings is sporting a new collection of boutique fashion lettings for the spring season at its Cavern Walks shopping centre in Liverpool.

Suzanne Walker, senior asset manager for Warner Estate, said: "In recent months we have secured lettings to businesses such as Cello Boutique and Lola Loves, up-and-coming designers with a loyal celebrity following. More recently a new brand, Oh My Love, has taken the last-but-one unit at Cavern Walks and existing tenants have been expanding; Boudoir Boutique is now trading as Boudette on the lower floor of their existing store with fashion aimed at a younger market and Kids Cavern has taken a second unit of 1,250 sq ft to run the only dedicated children's footwear retailer in Liverpool."

The 30,600 sq ft arcade best known for Vivienne Westwood and Cricket is located off Lord Street and Mathew Street, and sits above the Cavern Club and Flares Nightclub, both also owned by Warner.

After several reinventions over the past 20 years, Cavern Walks reached a new zenith when it became a popular place for footballers' wives including Wayne Rooney's wife Coleen and Steven Gerrard's wife Alex to spend some of their fellas' money.

Walker said Cavern Walks' appeal to Merseyside's WAG (wives and girlfriends) set 'is key to its success' and the asset management team have been seeking new designers and specialist retailers to add to the niche line-up.

She continued: "While Liverpool One offers the big chain brand experience for the city, our emphasis has been very firmly on developing a unique boutique shopping experience, fostering emerging talents, engaging with Liverpool John Moores University and LIPA students and ensuring Cavern Walks affirms its very own place on the Liverpool retail map; a strategy that is working."
