Vermont Developments and Ethel Austin Properties are expected to announce the hotel operator for the 132-bed 4-star hotel planned for their joint venture Quarter project on Sefton Street in Liverpool later this month.
Talks with the hotel operator are ongoing and its identity is not being released until the deal is done but it is believed to be a major US, publicly listed hotelier.
Vermont/Ethel Austin have been using a modern art-themed postcard campaign (pictured) devised by Liverpool agency Qire to trail an event at the Albert Dock planned as the hotel unveiling on 27 September.
There are also expected to be new images and details about the start on site date for the 22-storey residential element of the scheme, to be called simply The Tower.
Preparatory groundwork on the whole scheme started at the end of last year.
In total the £100m Quarter development, designed by local architects Falconer Chester Hall, will comprise 398 homes, including apartments in The Tower, shared equity units and family town houses. As well as the hotel, commercial content includes 13,000 sq ft of offices and 6,000 sq ft of retail around a central public square.
King Sturge's Liverpool residential office has been appointed to sell the homes, its latest major coup following its sole agency contract with Grosvenor on One Park West on The Strand.
The Vermont/Ethel Austin launch will take place at the Albert Dock in the vacant retail space previously occupied by furniture store, Room.
Guests will be shown two films, one a short about Vermont and the city of Liverpool and the other a computer-generated tour of The Quarter made by another Liverpool agency, Uniform.
The room will also be dressed with works of modern art commissioned by Vermont Developments.
