University names 15 contractors on £65m works programme

Manchester University has renewed its four-year framework for construction projects up to £4m.

The budget for the period is £65m and will cover all aspects from demolition to landscaping, decoration and new-build. Works in excess of £4m are tendered separately.

The selected companies were as follows:

Value of works up to £199,999. Total value £7.2m over four years:

  • City Build Manchester
  • Cruden Property Services, Salford
  • Garside & Laycock, Preston
  • MBC Building Contractor NW, Chadderton
  • Morris & Spottiswood, Warrington

Between £200,0000 and £999,999. Total budget £16m:

  • Ardmac Performance Contracting, Trafford Park
  • Benjamin Armitage Hyde, Stockport
  • Manchester & Cheshire Construction Co, Salford
  • Warden Construction, Preston
  • Whitfield & Brown, Widnes

Projects between £1m and £4m. Budget £41m:

  • Cruden Construction, Warrington
  • Harry Fairclough Construction, Fairclough
  • John Graham, Belfast
  • John Turner & Sons, Preston
  • Kier Northern, Manchester
