Taylor Wimpey buys Wirral site

Pension fund Universities Superannuation Scheme has sold a five acre development site adjacent to Croft Retail Park in Bromborough to Taylor Wimpey Homes.

The house builder has bought the Wirral site, located off the A41, for an undisclosed sum.

The site has planning permission to provide 86 family homes.

Kieran McLaughlin, associate director in Jones Lang LaSalle's residential development and investment team in Manchester, who advised Universities Superannuation Scheme on the sale, said: "This sale demonstrates that developer confidence is once again returning to the North West residential land market and that house builders have an appetite for sites in good locations and are actively seeking development opportunities."
