Social landlord signs AskBury pre-let

Six Town Housing, a landlord of former council stock in Bury, is to relocate to AskBury's Townside from premises on Moor Street, taking a pre-let on a 20,000 sq ft building.

AskBury is the joint venture between Ask Developments and Bury council set up to deliver the £80m mixed-use Townside Fields development.

The first phase is now fully let, with work on site for a 50,000 sq ft health centre for Bury Primary Care Trust, a 40,000 sq ft office building next to the Town Hall for the council and a new three-storey car park providing around 400 spaces.

A 110-bed Premier Inn Hotel is expected to start on site in the first quarter of 2009 with completion of 155,000 sq ft of buildings by spring 2010.

Six Town Housing is an Arms Length Management Organisation set up in April 2005 to manage housing stock on behalf of the council.
