Requiem Mass for Paul Rice

Paul Rice's funeral will take place next Wednesday 1 February at the Metropolitan Cathedral of Christ the King Liverpool.

Paul RiceRice was chief executive of Liverpool Commercial District Partnership from its inception in 2006. He died on Saturday 21 January from blood cancer.

His friends told Place that Rice chose the hymns for his funeral himself and also requested attendees should not wear football colours, despite his role as founder of the Spirit of Shankly supporters group at Liverpool FC. He wanted no divisions and a service that was respectful to the cathedral.

All those who knew him are welcome at the service, which begins at 12.15. The address of the cathedral is Mount Pleasant, Liverpool, L3 5TQ. There is car parking underneath the cathedral.

Paul Rice set up SPLOSH (Staff, Patients and Loved Ones Supporting Haematology) to benefit the Haematology Department at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital. View the fundraising page here
