Public open day at The Rock

A public open day is being held at The Rock shopping and leisure development in Bury on Sunday.

The 620,000 sq ft scheme will be open for the public to view four weeks before it officially opens its doors for trading on Friday 16 July.

David Laycock, centre director, The Rock, said: "This is a great opportunity for the public to see first-hand an exciting new shopping and leisure development taking shape. Many local people have been waiting to see The Rock come to completion so this is their chance to be among the very first to see what exciting new stores and leisure facilities await them this July."

The Rock includes anchor stores Debenhams and Marks and Spencer, alongside other retailers including Next, River Island, H&M, and Primark, and Cult.

The leisure element of the scheme consists of a ten-screen multiplex Vue cinema and an AMF 24-lane bowling and family entertainment centre. Eight restaurants including Pizza Express, Frankie & Benny's and Flaming Dragon, will also be situated at The Rock.

Regular guided tours will be taking place on the day around the development and, to coincide with Father's Day on Sunday 20 June, organisers are offering two free cinema tickets from Vue Cinema to the first 30 fathers that register.

There will also be a prize draw for all fathers to enter, to win a personal stylist session from one of The Rock's flagship stores during the first week of opening.

The public open day commences at 11am until 3pm and pre-registration is encouraged online at The Rock website.

People are recommended to wear suitable footwear and rain ponchos will be available if required.
