Pochin lands sports pavilion work

Pochin Special Projects, part of Cheshire-based Pochin's, has been awarded a £625,000 contract to build a new pavilion for the Thornley Drive Playing Fields in Cheadle, Staffordshire on behalf of the South Moorland District Council.

The contract includes the construction of a 21m x 14m single storey Pavillion, consisting of changing room, shower, toilet and coaching facilities, as well as a kitchen which will be used to provide refreshments on match days and coaching days. Pochin will also be resurfacing the existing car park as well as laying a new car park to provide an additional 60 spaces.

Antony Pochin, operations director for Pochin Special Projects, said: "The pavilion project is one of many bespoke contracts that Special Projects is currently carrying out in the region. The creation of the Special Projects arm allows Pochin to offer a more tailored service to its clients, for smaller projects valued under £1m. Pochin offers developers the security of a contractor with a strong track record, but has the ability to deliver more bespoke projects from start to finish."

Pochin Special Projects has started on site and the project is scheduled to take 27 weeks to complete.
