NFU Mutual snaps up Rochdale’s Amazon hub

The investor has bought the 216,000 sq ft shed at Kingsway Business Park from Standard Life off a guide price of £27m.

Ecommerce giant Amazon is understood to have leased the unit but the company has not confirmed the move as of yet.

Knight Frank acted for NFU Mutual and JLL represented Aberdeen Standard Investments.

Both parties declined to comment.

The logistics unit was Constructed by Bowmer + Kirkland for Wilson Bowden Developments and Rochdale Council and completed in 2016.

Kingsway Business Park is located off junction 21 of the M62 near Milnro and comprises more than 2m sq ft of warehouse space.

Other occupiers include Asda, logistics firm Wincanton, JD Sports, freight company Dachser, and textiles manufacturer Cleland McIver Lifestyle has plans to develop additional amenities at the complex.
