Damian Masters 2

Masters joins Urban Vision

Urban Vision, the joint venture partnership between Salford City Council, Capita and Galliford Try, has appointed Damian Masters as strategic property director.

A chartered surveyor with over 20 years’ experience, Masters launched his own consultancy in 2014, where he acted for clients including Middlesbrough Council, the office of the Police & Crime Commissioner for Greater Manchester and the Greater Manchester Fire & Rescue Service. He was previously land and development director at GVA.

Urban Vision was established in 2005 and provides property, infrastructure, regeneration and planning services to Salford City Council and other public and private sector clients across the UK.

Masters’ role is intended to transform the way in which Salford City Council uses its estates portfolio and support the authority in delivering its existing and emerging regeneration, housing, education and commercial strategies.

He will also advise and negotiate on projects around Greengate, New Bailey, Middlewood Locks and the University of Salford campus and district centres around the borough.

Masters said: “I have always enjoyed working as a conduit between the public and private sectors, looking at innovative and new solutions to property and regeneration challenges. I look forward to supporting Salford City Council as well as providing strategic property advice to help further regenerate the city.”

Barry Pilkington, Urban Vision’s partnership director, added: “Damian’s appointment to the partnership will not only further strengthen our property expertise and capability, but it will significantly support Salford City Council with their growth agenda.

“I look forward to supporting Damian to provide Salford with a more strategic property voice across the Greater Manchester devolved region.”
