Management contract awarded for media centre

A £3m contract for the management of facilities at Salford's new Media Enterprise Centre has been awarded to MediaSmiths International.

Based in the blue tower at MediaCityUK, Salford Quays, the centre, called The Landing, will provide 55,000 sq ft of affordable business accommodation for SMEs within the digital media industries.

MediaSmiths has secured a three-year contract to run facilities within the Digital Workflow Centre at The Landing on behalf of Salford City Council.

Contracts for the management of a gaming and interactive hub and a content production hub are still to be awarded.

MediaSmiths International's contract relates to facilities management services involving computer operation, technical support services, ancillary works for broadcasting and television production services.
