Liverpool One welcomes local art pop-up

Liverpool interiors practice Team a Go-Go has helped create a Made-Here pop-up shop due to open in Grosvenor's Liverpool One later this month.

The shop will promote the work of local visual artists and designers by selling their handmade items to encourage people to buy locally.

Steve Threlfall, creative director of Team a Go-Go, said: "There is an increasing trend for pop-up shops at the moment – which we think presents a really exciting opportunity to create spaces of difference and interest on our high street. Of course the challenge is also that these clients have really low budgets as there is only a short timescale for them to get the return on their investment. At Team a Go-Go we don't believe that this should also lower a clients' expectations and so we choose to work inventively with unusual or lower cost materials and invest the time and money in the design process to ensure the individuality that this type of client is looking for."

The Made-Here pop-up shop is the first for this brand, but there are others in the pipeline in Liverpool but also other towns and cities. The brand currently runs an online shop www.made-here.co.uk which also sells work by local artists and designers and also organises arts markets and other events to promote buying locally handmade items such as jewellery, gifts, art, cards, prints, homewares and fashion accessories.
