HOW and Broadway Malyan win Waitrose Chester work

HOW Planning has been instructed by leading food retailer Waitrose to advise on plans for its new full offer store in Chester.

Waitrose, part of the John Lewis Partnership, announced its intention to build a new store on the site of Broughton Retail Centre earlier this year and has appointed HOW Planning to put together proposals for the redevelopment of the site.

Broadway Malyan Architects has been appointed to develop the design for the new store.

Gary Halman, partner at HOW Planning, said: "Waitrose is an extremely high quality retailer with a growing network of stores throughout the UK. It has a unique approach to the market, which is proving more popular than ever and paving the way for further expansion.

"We are delighted to be working with such an ambitious and positive company and look forward to being able to make further announcements about this project."
