F&G buys Trafford Park shed

F&G Commercials has bought a 53,000 sq ft warehouse in Trafford Park Road from AKW Group for an undisclosed sum.

The unit sits on a five-acre site which fronts Village Circle, and will be used by F&G for the sales and maintenance of DAF Trucks as part of its main dealer franchise.

Following the sale, AKW has relocated to a 12-acre site with 200,000 sq ft transit warehouse at Alba Way Trafford Park, which it acquired at the end of last year to house its expanded operations after a merger with Global Logistics.

Steve Johnson, partner of B8 Real Estate, said: “Opportunities such as this rarely become available in Trafford Park particularly with the level of prominence. As such the site generated significant interest from developers and end users. The extensive hard standing and refurbishment potential suited F&G which resulted in a speedy transaction”.

Knight Frank acted jointly with B8 Real Estate for AKW Group. F&G Commercials were unrepresented.
