Burnley Bridge Extension

Eshton to add 600,000 sq ft at Burnley Bridge

The developer and investor has announced plans to extend its Burnley Bridge industrial and logistics park.

Located at junction 9 of the M65, the current scheme comprises Burnley Bridge and Titanium Park, which together span 80 acres.

Eshton said that the proposed £45m extension will be built on a 32-acre plot to the south of the M65 adjacent to the A679 Accrington Road. Branded as Burnley Bridge South, the scheme will provide a similar mix of warehousing and industrial accommodation to the existing business park, with a flexible range of units.

The indicative plans are for six units totalling 600,000 sq ft, although Eshton said that a single bespoke building with a footprint in excess of 500,000 sq ft could be accommodated.

James Chapman, managing director of Eshton, said: “Burnley Bridge South is part of Eshton’s vision to expand Burnley Bridge Business Park’s presence on the M65, it demonstrates the firm’s ongoing commitment to investing in Burnley.”

Enabled by a new flyover built in 2011, Burnley Bridge has attracted occupiers including technology distributor Exertis, which occupies a 550,000 sq ft unit, and haulier Fagan & Whalley, which took 92,000 sq ft. Plans for the 135,000 sq ft Titanium Park extension were revealed in December 2016.
