Crow Wood opens Bertram’s restaurant

Leisure and fitness complex Crow Wood, Burnley, has opened a restaurant as part of its new spa development called Bertram's.

The £4m investment includes a glass-fronted 80-cover dining area offering views of surrounding woodland and Pendle Hill.

Olivier Foucré, food and beverage director at Olivier Foucré, said: "We plan to deliver a memorable dining and a social experience. Our philosophy is to keep things simple, to let the ingredients speak for themselves – and where we can, we'll use local produce."

The Frenchman was previously general manager at Mitton Hall, Clitheroe, and has worked as a sommelier at Fouquet's on the Champs Elysee in Paris.

Oliver Brown, director of Crow Wood, said: "The initial reaction from customers has been excellent.

"The new spa development and Bertram's restaurant will complement each other's offering. We think this will be a massive draw for the area."
