Developer Amstone Ventures has handed over its 614-apartment build-to-rent scheme in Salford Quays to landlord Grainger, after works were completed by contractor Sir Robert McAlpine.
Amstone said that handover comes three months ahead of schedule at the £100m Leach Rhodes Walker-designed project, which it said is the UK’s largest finished BTR scheme outside London.
The development is configured within five blocks and also includes more than 7,000 sq ft of resident amenity space including cinema room, private dining room, residents lounge and co-working space.
Adnan Siddiqi, managing director of Amstone, said: “Amstone is thrilled to have successfully completed this milestone project for the UK build-to-rent sector, ahead of schedule, and to an excellent standard.
“We’re looking forward to delivering more placemaking build-to-rent developments in other parts of the UK with a further two projects coming to fruition later this year.”
Grainger chief executive Helen Gordon said that the firm is pleased with progress to date, with 54% of phase one pre-leased prior to the building’s completion.
Amstone purchased the four-acre site in 2014, achieved detailed planning approval in 2015 with forward funding and started on site in 2016.
