Caddick to build £5m Porsche centre

The construction firm has scooped the contract to design and build a 17,400 sq ft sales and maintenance centre for Porsche cars in Carnforth, Lancashire.

The £5m showroom is to be located at the Portsche Centre South Lakes site, north of Kellet Road and close to the M6.

Once complete, the currently vacant site will house workshops, offices and a MOT testing facility to serve the automaker’s Cumbria and North Lancashire operations.

And it will serve as a showroom for the full range of Porsche cars, including the 911, 718, Taycan, Panamera, Cayenne and Macan, together with a handover lounge, meeting rooms and employee facilities.

Preliminary work has already begun and the new centre, as well as external works, are due to be completed by summer 2021.

Caddick Construction, part of the Caddick Group, was appointed to the job by Porsche franchise holders Parker & Parker.

The project is part of the continued expansion of the German luxury sports car maker in the North West of England.

The architect and principal designer for the project is Axis 3 Design, and Cumbrian-based R G Parkins & Partners is the structural engineer.
