Boss Black opening in Liverpool One

The German-based fashion retailer Hugo Boss is opening a flagship store in Liverpool city centre in the summer.

The Boss Black/Boss Collection store is part of the Hugo Boss brand and will occupy a 3,200 sq ft unit in Peter's Lane within Grosvenor's £1bn Liverpool One scheme.

The shop, which will stock a full range of menswear, will join other designer names in Peter's Lane, including Jigsaw, Karen Millen, Dune, Whistles, Reiss, Radley and Jaeger.

Chris Bliss, Liverpool One's estate director, said: "Boss Black is a very powerful addition to Peter's Lane and the wider Liverpool One offer. The quality and style of their clothing and accessories complements the existing brands and we're confident the store will be a very popular addition to the area."

The new store is scheduled to open in August. Details of the rental agreement were not disclosed.

Are Boss the latest to pull out of the met Quarter? I was in the Met yesterday and there are now almost as many empty units as there are occupied. This is a real shame as the Met is a fantastic development, but it is clearly losing out big style to Liverpool One. It must be a real dilemna, whether to stick to trying to attract premium brands only, or to go down market and have more units occupied.
