Avalanche mounts hunt for 12,000 sq ft in Liverpool
The Swedish video game developer has appointed agency Worthington Owen to find it a UK headquarters, having plumped for Liverpool over Manchester.
Avalanche Studios Group, which has offices in Stockholm, Malmo and New York, plans to take some flexible space in the short-term before moving into a permanent home in Q2 or Q3 next year.
The initial requirement is for 8,000 sq ft with scope to expand up to 12,000 sq ft as the company grows.
Within the next two years, Avalanche’s Liverpool team will grow to more than 50, according to a statement on its website.
Worthington Owen told Place North West that it was in the process of drawing up a shortlist of possible office locations for the firm.
One option could be Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle, which is already home to a number of video game developers including Lucid Games, Milky Tea Studio and Wushu Studios.
Avalanche was founded in 2003 by Linus Blomberg and Christofer Sundberg and is most famous for developing the Just Cause series of games.

From what I have been reading Liverpool was always their target location, I was not aware that Manchester was being seriously considered, or any other city for that matter. Good news and hope they end up in the Baltic hub.
