Mulbury to progress long-awaited Oldham housing
The developer has submitted plans for 65 homes on a five-acre plot off Moss Hey Street in Shaw, almost seven years after outline planning permission was granted.
The former landowner P&D Northern Steels, which also occupied the site, was granted a seven-year implementation period, rather than the usual three, to give the business time to locate to a new premises.
P&D has now relocated to a site at Woodstock Distribution Centre in Royton, and Mulbury has since acquired the land in order to bring the project forward.
The development will combine a mix of two-, three- and four-bedroom detached and semi-detached homes.
Of the 65 homes, 44 will be made available on an affordable basis.
PWA Planning is acting as the planner for the project, GTD is the architect and Urban Green is the landscape architect.
