Mulbury puts in plans for three housing sites

Residential developer Mulbury has submitted planning applications for three affordable housing developments in Chorley, Clitheroe, and Tyldesley, totalling 114 homes.

The largest of the three is in Euxton, near Chorley, where the developer is proposing 51 homes off Dunrobin Drive for housing association One Vision.

The five-acre site, off Wigan Road, sits next to railway lines and is currently used for agriculture; Redrow was previously attached as developer and secured planning permission for 37 houses, but this scheme is now unlikely to come forward, allowing Mulbury to put forward an alternative plan.

PWA is acting as planner for Mulbury on the scheme.

In Tyldesley, the developer has put forward 40 homes on a site off Lancaster Avenue on behalf of Your Housing Group, while in Clitheroe, there are proposals for 23 homes, brought forward for Laurus Homes.

Subject to planning permission, the developer is aiming to start all three sites in spring this year. The projects add to Mulbury’s pipeline which already features more than 750 homes under construction on 13 sites across the region.

Last October, the company submitted an application alongside Wythenshawe Community Housing Group for 94 homes on a vacant site in Hazel Grove, formerly a BT warehouse.

David Wroe, operations director at Mulbury, said: “These three planning applications further demonstrate the appetite of our clients and development partners for high quality new homes in sustainable locations.

“It also emphasises the continued growth of Mulbury as we seek to deliver more much-needed homes across the region.”
