Morris & Spottiswood draw on Lennon & McCartney for campaign

Fit-out and building maintenance business, Morris & Spottiswood, has embarked on a bold marketing campaign using the The Beatles stars' names as well as other Liverpudlian duos on vans in Liverpool.

The Warrington-based company's fleet of commercial vehicles have been emblazoned with livery designed to echo the company's own branding and draw inspiration from famous Liverpool duos. Lennon & McCartney are joined by fellow musicians Echo & the Bunnymen and two of the city famous colloquialisms Warra ya like & Deez'l Do, in a campaign hinged around the & in the company's own logo.

Tony Cahill, Morris & Spottiswood North West business unit director, said: "We wanted to do something that was eye-catching, fun and demonstrated our roots in the city. We hit upon using the ampersand from our own company branding as a starting point and developed the idea from there.

"We've been working in Liverpool for many years and wanted to reflect the humour and musical heritage to make a statement of our commitment to developing long-lasting relationships in the city. It's a fun campaign that people have responded to in a very positive manner."

Morris & Spottiswood's highest profile project in Liverpool was the recent commercial fit-out of offices at One Park West, part of the Liverpool One complex for Grosvenor. The firm has also worked with Merseyside Pension Fund and CB Richard Ellis in Liverpool.

The campaign will include site banners, direct mail and a new website under the umbrella concept of '& means more for Liverpool'. The creative concepts have been designed and delivered by D8 creative.
