Morgan Sindall promotes Roberts to Northern MD
Barry Roberts has stepped up from his role as North West area director at Morgan Sindall to become managing director of the contractor’s northern business unit.
Roberts, who has been area director at the contractor since 2005, has this month stepped up to his new role and will oversee Morgan Sindall’s construction business across the North West, Yorkshire, and the North East.
The contractor has already had a busy start to 2018 in the North West, having started construction on a multi-storey car park in Manchester’s New Bailey, while work continues on infrastructure, public realm and site clearance at the £1bn Paddington Village development in Liverpool.
Morgan Sindall will also deliver The Spine at Paddington Village, due to be home to the Royal College of Physicians’ Northern headquarters, designs for which were revealed at this year’s MIPIM property conference in Cannes.
In its latest full-year results, the contractor also reported a 48% jump in pre-tax profit, which rose to £64.9m, while the group also reported a revenue of £2.79bn.
Pat Boyle, managing director of construction for Morgan Sindall, said: “Our business in the North goes from strength to strength and we are confident this will continue under Barry’s experienced leadership.”
