More than 100 Brampton Homes to be considered by Cumberland
Housebuilder Charles Church, a Persimmon Homes brand, has proposed the development of 112 houses off Dacre Road.
The council has already allocated the near 14-acre site for residential use in its local plan and will now consider whether to allow the development of semi-detached and detached properties ranging from two- to five-bedrooms.
There are to be 33 affordable properties, offered as a mix of both intermediate and affordable rent, matching the 30% target.
More than five acres of public space would be included at the development, equating to 37% of the total site area.
To boost sustainability credentials, each property would be fitted with solar panels, air source heat pumps, and electric vehicle chargers.
Andrew Laing, land director at Persimmon Homes, said he was happy with the application and added: “The proposed development would provide a range of high-quality, energy efficient homes for local buyers in Cumbria.
“We look forward to continuing our work with Cumberland Council as we progress the application through the planning system.”
