More Prescot Park homes set for planning approval

Countryside Properties is set to win planning approval for 140 houses at the former Prysmian Cables factory in Prescot as the fourth housebuilder to bring forward homes on the 63-acre site.

The housebuilder’s reserved matters application will go before Knowsley’s planning committee next week with a recommendation to approve. The proposals are for 140 homes on Plot A of the development, one of five separate parcels of land to be developed for housing on the brownfield site.

Countryside’s plot covers 7.3 acres and borders the retail and commercial parts of the site. The housebuilder is proposing five detached homes, 58 semi-detached houses, 53 three and four-bed mews homes, and 24 one and two bed apartments.

If approved, the proposals will be the fourth set of residential plans to be given the go-ahead at the site, which covers 63 acres.

Barratt secured reserved matters permission for 150 homes in July 2017, covering Parcel B, the largest portion of the site. Meanwhile, Anwyl Homes secured planning for 119 homes in November, and earlier this year, Taylor Wimpey’s proposals for 173 homes were also signed off by Knowsley Council planners.

Outline plans for the wider scheme include 750 homes and 10,000 sq ft of commercial and industrial space. Infrastructure works on the site have already completed, alongside a Home Bargains warehouse.

Knowsley’s planning committee is due to meet on 17 April.
