MIPIM VIDEO | Why investors should look at Wigan

Wigan Council is laying the groundwork for development in the borough, putting down the infrastructure that will enable the delivery of a series of prime sites, according to director of place Aidan Thatcher and commercial developments service manager Hayley Fielden.

The two Wigan Council representatives spoke with Place North West about what is coming down the pipeline and what their vision is for Wigan town centre, Leigh, and the borough at large. They discussed the £135m Wigan Galleries scheme, Wigan Pier, and the masterplan for Wigan’s two train stations.

The Wigan conversation is just starting at MIPIM, with an entire session on the Manchester stand dedicated to the borough. Join the panel discussion at 4.45pm on Wednesday 13 March, chaired by Place North West‘s Dan Whelan. The session will be livestreamed on the Manchester at MIPIM Vimeo channel.
