MIPIM 2010 sponsors revealed
With a little more than one month to go before the annual MIPIM property festival in the South of France, the take-up of sponsorship packages for the Manchester and Liverpool stands is on course to match 2009 levels.
A total of 28 companies have signed up so far to be part of the Manchester delegation, just two shy of last year's final total of 30 but with more signatures expected shortly, according to Marketing Manchester, organiser of the city's presence at MIPIM.
Liverpool so far has only four named private sector supporters. In 2009 it attracted six.
Urban Splash, which last sponsored the Manchester stand in 2008, Savills, HKR Architects and Bluemantle are new names this year compared to last. Notable absentees from this year's partnership include, at this stage, Hyder Consulting, design consultants Taylor Young, and, on the public side, Bolton Council.
The Manchester Bar, introduced in 2008, returns for exclusive use by Manchester delegates and guests but there will be no city yacht. Scheduled events include a talk at the Hotel Gray D'Albion on Thursday 18 March, hosted by Sir Howard Bernstein, chief executive of Manchester City Council.
On the Liverpool itinerary, Ben Johnson, artist and creator of urban panoramas, will discuss his cityscape of the city completed in 2008. Other keynote speakers include the best-selling author and business thinker Mike Southon who will explain how to be more creative and innovative with a presentation linked to The Beatles. Lindsey Ashworth, development director of Peel, will give a presentation on Liverpool Waters.
