Miller takes on former McInerney sites
Miller Homes has been awarded the management contract for ten new residential developments in the North and Midlands with a combined value of £100m that were all previously under the ownership of Ludgate Hill Developments, part of McInerney Holdings, which has several subsidiaries in administration.
The sites are located across the North West, North East, Yorkshire and the Midlands and will be fully re-branded and integrated into Miller Homes' portfolio over the coming weeks.
Richard Heis, Brian Green and Paul Dumbell of KPMG were appointed joint administrators to seven companies within the UK arm of the McInerney Holdings group of companies on 4 April 2011. The joint administrators transferred a number of the private development sites to a solvent entity within the group, Ludgate Hill Developments, to allow these sites to be developed with the aim of maximising the return to creditors.
The ten sites transferred to Ludgate Hill Developments now contracted to Miller are:
- Beaumont Court, Morpeth
- Beaumont Grange, Warrington
- Bishops Park, Gateshead
- Bispham Hall, Billinge, Lancashire
- Catreffle, Wrexham
- Grace, Bradford
- Maddocks Grange, Telford
- Whitton View, Rothbury
- Wydale, Walker
- Zest, Newton Heath, Manchester
Chris Endsor, operations director for Miller Homes, said in a statement: "The acquisition allows us to build on our nationwide portfolio of existing developments as we further enhance our proven track record of successful management and development. It will help increase our profile locally and enables us to provide more high quality homes for customers with two new live developments in the North West."
In the North West two developments are set to open in the summer Beaumont Grange, close to Warrington town centre, and Zest in Newton Heath, Manchester.
