MIDAS to host Beyond Digital Health event in Manchester
Manchester's inward investment agency, MIDAS is hosting the inaugural Beyond Digital Health Manchester 2011.
The two-day BDHM11 conference and exhibition on 13 and 14 December at the Bridgewater Hall will look at eHealth, mHealth, personalised medicine, assisted living and remote diagnostics from the perspective of businesses, investors, policy makers and service deliverers, with an emphasis on collaboration across sectors.
The event will further MIDAS' work in strengthening the links between information and communications technology and life sciences, both sectors in which Manchester has world-class expertise.
Tim Newns, chief executive of MIDAS, said: "There are 100,000 people working In ICT across Greater Manchester and some 22,000 people employed across the bio-medical field. As such, we're delighted to play host to a conference that brings together two of Manchester's most important industries.
"In addition it helps us to raise Manchester's profile as a base for organisations within these sectors."
Speakers over the two-day conference include; Kevin Dean, managing director of Connected Health, Cisco; Matthew Walls, ceo of Epistem; professor Alasdair Rawsthorne, from the School of Computer Science at the University of Manchester Shaun Fensom, chair of Manchester Digital; Penny Attridge, investment director at Spark Impact; and many more.
