Metrolink contractor takes Bruntwood space
Office developer Bruntwood has signed MPact-Thales for 10,697 sq ft at Trafford Plaza in Old Trafford.
MPact-Thales is the consortium appointed to design, build and maintain the next phase of Greater Manchester's Metrolink; made up of Laing O'Rourke, GrantRail and Thales Group UK.
Sub-contractors including Jacobs and Faber Maunsell also work from the Trafford Plaza office as do staff from Greater Manchester Passenger Transport Executive.
The space was taken on a five-year lease and will accommodate the consortium's management, engineering and design teams.
David Laws, of Edwards & Co, joint letting agent with P3 and Canning O'Neill, said: "Although the location is ideal, the clinch was to be able to secure premises that enabled a bespoke refurbishment to be undertaken whilst short term space was occupied also within Bruntwood's Lowry House. This considerable letting for Old Trafford demonstrates Bruntwood's ability to accommodate all aspects of the consortium's significant & bespoke requirements."
