Mersey Basin launches 2009 awards
Organisers of the Northwest Business Environment Awards are urging environmentally conscious firms to submit entries for the 2009 event.
Companies based in Cumbria, Lancashire, Merseyside, Greater Manchester and Cheshire are all being encouraged by Mersey Basin Campaign, together with North West Development Agency, which are hosting the award ceremony.
Businesses can enter into one or more of the following award categories:
- Best Environmental Practice (products and service)
- Built Environment
- Sustainable Procurement
- Environmental Innovation
- Environmental Champions
Steven Broomhead, chief executive at the North West Development Agency, said: "Now in its seventh year, the Northwest Business Environment Awards always showcases the region's very best professional organisations as well as the finest businessmen and businesswomen who excel in environmental management and leadership."
Host of the awards, Walter Menzies, chief executive of the Mersey Basin Campaign, added: "This year we're leaving no stone unturned in our quest to find the NWBEA Green Heroes of 2009 so don't be surprised if you receive a call from our investigations team asking you to fill in an awards form."
- All entries need to be in submitted before 2 February 2009. Entry forms and advice on how to write a winning entry can be found on www.merseybasin.org.uk. The awards event will be held in June 2009.
