McCarthy Stone plots Lymm development

The senior living specialist has submitted plans for a 45-apartment scheme at Watercress Farm.

McCarthy Stone said that the development will include landscaping, indoor communal facilities and on-site car parking.

The development breaks down as 26 one-bedroom and 19 two-bedroom retirement living apartments, all available for private sale or with various rental options.

Communal facilities within the apartment building including a residents’ lounge, balcony terrace, guest suite, internal refuse store, and mobility scooter storage with charging points. There will be 32 on-site car parking spaces, including disabled bays, for homeowners, staff and visitors

Close to the centre of Lymm off Thirlmere Drive, the firm said there will be “low levels of traffic generation and car ownership given the sustainable location of the site”

All estate management is provided in-house by McCarthy Stone.

The company said: “Our proposal for land at Watercress Farm presents a valuable opportunity to bring forward a specialist retirement community in Lymm, meeting a local need for this type of accommodation whilst releasing family-sized homes back onto the local market.”

Other projects pursued by the developer in recent years include a 44-home project at a former Royal British Legion site in Maghull.
