Marks & Spencer signs at 3 Hardman Street
Allied London's 350,000 sq ft office building in Spinningfields, Manchester is now 93% full after M&S signed a lease for 21,000 sq ft on the eighth floor.
M&S will use the space for a new business service centre employing 200 staff. The company will move existing business and finance support functions from Salford Quays to Manchester city centre. The M&S human resources shared service centre will remain at Salford Quays.
M&S signed a 15-year lease at an undisclosed rent, taking the building to 93% leased within 12 months of practical completion. Other tenants at the successful building include BDO Stoy Hayward, Bank of New York Mellon, Pinsent Masons, Baker Tilly, Beachcroft, Shoosmiths, Barclays, PKF and Regus.
Mike Ingall, chief executive of Allied London, said: "This building is the best office building outside of London and is a great asset for Manchester. I suspect it will be a long time before a building of such quality will be developed so I expect it to continue to attract keen tenant interest from those organisations that require an excellent working environment and great amenities for its management and staff."
DTZ and Jones Lang LaSalle are letting agents on 3 Hardman Street. CB Richard Ellis advised Marks & Spencer.
