Maddox Planning opens Manchester office
Planning consultant Maddox has launched its Manchester office with former Lichfields planning director Stephen Morgan-Hyland at the helm.
The office will be Maddox’s second and its first office outside London. The company, founded by David Maddox in 2008, has hired Morgan-Hyland to head up the team, based out of Beehive Mill.
Morgan-Hyland joins from Lichfields, where he spent nine years. He has also worked for WYG, where he led a major projects team, and Savills where he was director of commercial planning.
Maddox is now looking to establish a team out of its Manchester office to focus on major development projects including both new-build and regeneration schemes.
The company is already active in Manchester, having previously secured planning permission for the repurposing of Gateway House on Piccadilly Approach into a mixed-use development, led by the StayCity Aparthotel.
Morgan-Hyland said: “Establishing the Maddox Planning Manchester base is a true honour. I’ve joined a group of exceptionally talented planning leaders and my ambition is for the base to be at the forefront of creating places and environments for the North to be proud of.
“We’ll do that with a relaxed and tailored approach, whilst making sure that our customers’ and colleagues’ experiences alike are enjoyable ones”.
Maddox added: “Adding a Manchester base to our London operations makes perfect sense. As soon as I met Stephen and listened to his plans for a different style of planning consultancy in Manchester, I knew that this fitted our company ethos.
“His ambition, commitment and drive shine through and his clarity, precision and persuasiveness will bring a Maddox offer to the North consistent with that enjoyed in the South.”
Very well done & good luck
