L&Q inks 18,000 sq ft Trafford relocation deal
The housing association has signed a 16-year lease on the top two floors at Hurstwood Holdings’ Nexus off Brindley Road.
L&Q will relocate its Trafford office from Bruntwood’s Sale Point on Washway Road.
The registered provider will occupy 18,000 sq ft within Nexus, which Hurstwood acquired in 2019, paying £14.15/sq ft. The deal is one of the largest office lettings in Greater Manchester so far this year.
“L&Q is a great addition to our already expansive portfolio of high calibre tenants,” said Andy Park, managing director of Hurstwood Holdings.
“Over the next few months, we will be working with the L&Q team to carry out a bespoke fit-out of this prominent building that accommodates its specific requirements.”
Gateleys provided legal advice and Edwards advised on the letting.
Oliver Woodall, associate director at Edwards, said: “This modern headquarters-style office building was ideal for L&Q as it looks to relocate its operations from its previous premises in Sale.
“There are few opportunities in the market at present to acquire buildings of this size and given its unique location and the current challenging market, we were pleased to have been able to secure this deal for both parties.”
L&Q was unrepresented.
Hurstwood and Rothschild agreed a £50m refinancing deal for various properties within its portfolio in 2022, including Nexus.
