Lloyds ups regional presence with real estate hire
Lloyds Bank has appointed Allan MacKenzie as head of regions for its commercial real estate unit, with the newly-created role based out of the Manchester office.
MacKenzie, who has worked within Lloyds Banking Group for more than 30 years, has been promoted from his previous position as relationship director within the listed clients team in London and has relocated to Manchester.
He will oversee the relationship teams based in the bank’s Glasgow, Edinburgh, Leeds, Birmingham, Bristol and Manchester offices that provide funding to clients with assets in excess of £25m.
During his career, MacKenzie has worked in Glasgow, Aberdeen, London and Manchester. In 2015, he led the £277m refinancing of MediaCityUK, alongside Citi, which followed Legal & General’s purchase of a 50% stake in the development from Peel.
John Feeney, managing director and global head of commercial real estate for Lloyds Bank, said: “Allan’s appointment is a real statement of our intent. His blend of experience operating within regional markets alongside some of the biggest players in real estate make him ideally placed to spearhead our growth.”
