Liverpool homes set for sign-off
Liverpool City Council is expected to approve the development of 300 houses by Countryside Properties and Bellway Homes at its next planning committee meeting on Tuesday 7 July.
Countryside Properties has submitted a planning application for the 19.5-acre former Gateacre Comprehensive School site in Grange Lane, Woolton.
The developer proposes 200 homes with landscaping on the plot, to include a mix of three-, four- and five-bedroom detached and semi-detached family houses.
Turley is Countryside’s planning advisor.
At Prescot Road, Bellway Homes has outlined plans for 98 homes on the former Police Club.
The square 6.5-acre site is made up of two football pitches and three bowling greens which were previously used by the Merseyside Police but which have been vacant for some time. The plot is allocated as green space within the adopted unitary development plan.
The development would be a mix of three- and four-bedroom properties, 28 of which would be semi-detached.
Nexus Planning advised Bellway on the application.
Planning officers have recommended both schemes for approval at the committee meeting next week.
Isn’t the old Gateacre comp site a landfill site? are the houses going to be 500K plus like those on New Heys school and ‘Gateacre Rise’ sorry Woolton Rise which is just opposite – what will it be called Woolton Hill (when its not) or something like that?
Soon you wont be able to move around there what with the new Aldi, the convent being sold at top of Beaconsfield Road, Redrow building on Watergate school, Redrow building on St Julies school and then there not being ‘enough room’ to build the new school on the site so having to take part of the Woolton Wood/Camp Hill to fit it on! Soon all these people that have bought in to live in Woolton will say ooh we thought it was nice around here but you cant move for traffic. Can’t get our kids into the local schools this is rubbish. Because it will be!

They’ll be no shortage of takers for the homes, £500k or not, it’s a nice areas so why not.?
The Government want more houses so somehow their planning consultants have secured the planning regardless of it’s previous zoning, and at the end of the day we need more houses for people despite the price tag!
