Lingerie store joins Arndale line-up
M&G Real Estate and Intu have confirmed that lingerie brand Victoria’s Secret will open a 9,750 sq ft store in Manchester Arndale in early 2018, the retailer’s eighth UK store outside London.
Following recent news of Paul Smith signing for a unit at the nearby New Cathedral Street, M&G and Intu said this latest letting “continues the premium theme”. The shop will provide space for sister brands, Victoria’s Secret and Victoria’s Secret Pink, to trade side-by-side in 5,900 sq ft and 3,800 sq ft respectively.
Victoria’s Secret will feature a full range of lingerie collections, as well as Victoria’s Secret Pink, a lifestyle brand celebrating college women and campus life.
Colin Flinn, regional managing director at Intu, said: “Welcoming such a sought after international name such as Victoria’s Secret to Manchester Arndale is hugely positive.
“As retailers continue to assess their portfolios to ensure they are in the most prominent shopping hotspots, Victoria’s Secret, as with Paul Smith, put Manchester city centre firmly on its list.”
M&G Real Estate and Intu are also expanding the restaurant and café offer in the Arndale, with the £11m redevelopment of Halle Square, which will become Halle Place.
The retained agents acting for Intu and M&G Real Estate at Manchester Arndale and on the New Cathedral Street parade are JLL and Metis Real Estate Advisors. CBRE advised Victoria’s Secret.
Very good but when will Flying Tiger open? Or Uniqlo?
